Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan (SSS) is a research-based organization that advocates the economic agenda of Bharat with its enriched vision and mission. It also aims to promote Swadeshi principles among the youth and empower them for a broader picture of life. The Sansthan held a one-day (2024 बजट पर चर्चा) in New Delhi. The entire discussion majorly focused on “the budget and its nuances” which is the core financial record of one’s Nation.
The inaugural session of the event started at 04:00 PM with the veneration of all the guests and researchers in the event. The discussion began about Bharat’s budget for 2024 which will bring out the mandatory changes in the economy of Bharat. The Budget’s theme which is made for “Vikshit Bharat@2047”. The theme raised 4 main components of the 2024 Budget which are “Employment”, “Skilling”, “MSMEs”, and “Middle Class” and was also about the Women-centric nature of the Budget which could render more and more liabilities to Women.
The “Women Oriented Schemes” allocated more than ₹ 3 Lakh crore for politics and schemes. It is also observed that the scheme would not only benefit the working women in the sectors but also the married and housemakers and the areas of “Innovation, Research, and Development” and “Energy Security” will be considered for more allocations and initiatives in the future. The topic of the transformation in Tax Regime and Proposals was also discussed which is at present ₹ 0-3 Lakhs are nil and more than ₹ 15 Lakhs are 30% and lastly argued on the changes in customs duties.
The topic of Agriculture was relevantly addressed in the meeting as new changes thereabouts in the 2024 Budget and the areas related to “Natural Farming”, “Shrimp Production & Export”, “Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)”, and “New Varieties in Crops”. The value of laboratory research which is supposed to get an increment with the new changes in Agricultural Policies was also discussed.
The main highlights of the discussed topics were that the budget would be promising for the age group of 20 to 30 years. The new initiatives done in the concurrent budget such as The New tax regime, increase in MSME allocation, startup schemes, infrastructure growth and domestic transferred pricing. Budget also called a “Labour Intensive Budget”.
The Key points of the (2024 बजट पर चर्चा) are as given:-
- To promote startups, the Angel Tax has been abolished.
- The corporate tax on foreign companies has been reduced from 40% to 35%.
- Financial aid will be provided for loans up to Rs 10 lakh for higher studies in domestic institutions.
- Custom duty on three cancer medicines has been completely removed.
- The space economy will be increased fivefold in the next 10 years.
- The loan limit for Mudra loans will be raised from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
- Kisan credit cards will be issued in five states.
- Arrangements will be made for 109 varieties of horticulture for 32 crops.
- 3 crore houses will be built under the PMAY scheme.
- A new scheme will provide internships for 1 crore youths in 500 top companies over the next 5 years.
The event was presided over by Honourable Shri Satish Kumar, Akhil Bharatiya Sah Sagathak of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan and Shri Deepak P. Kumar. Notable dignitaries such as Prof. Dr. Pradeep Chauhan, Prof. Dr. Sarabjeet Kaur, Adv. Gagan Kumar, Prof. Dr. Himani Sharma, Prof. Dr. Rajendra Singh, and Dr. Alok addressed and shared their views on the Budget and highlighted the commendable changes that would be prevailing with the 2024 budget. The researchers working at SSS such as Dr. Jaya Saha from Tripura, Dr. Ritu Bajaj, Seh-Mahila Pramukh of SJM at Haryana, Dr. Compesh Pannu, Nishant Chaturvedi, Researcher, Deepak Singh, Website and Content Developer, Kishan Sharma, Akshay Krishi Parivar were present to highlight the budget and also raised their questions for better understanding of the topic.
The valedictory session was moderated by Honorable Shri Satish Kumar. He highlighted the new ways of granting news and knowledge which are YouTube, Twitter, Facebook etc. He mentioned that the Nation is delighted as its economic pillars are stable enough for its future. He also encouraged the word “Entrepreneurship” along with skilling and gave an example from the book titled, “A World of Three Zeros: The New Economics of Zero Poverty, Zero Unemployment, and Zero Net Carbon Emissions” by Muhammad Yunus which explains the concept of entrepreneurship. He also encouraged all the researchers and economists to add their insights further to the budget.
Additionally, a team of young media heads led by Vijeet Kumar, Deepak Singh and Eng. Deepti Payasi as photographer and technical coordinator respectively significantly contributed to the success of the event.
