At SEMICON India 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India’s expanding semiconductor ecosystem is creating new opportunities across chip design, manufacturing, packaging and electronics. The three-day event brings together more than 600 companies from 52 countries, highlighting growing global industry participation. India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 has an expanded outlay of $13.5 billion, while 12 chip projects have been approved and three have begun commercial production. The government is aiming to build a broader domestic semiconductor value chain and strengthen India’s position in the global industry.
