The Government of India is expected to announce the forthcoming cohort of beneficiaries under the IndiaAI Mission, with approximately eight indigenous AI enterprises likely to be selected for foundational model development support. Among the anticipated recipients is BharatGen, a consortium comprising researchers from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). This initiative seeks to advance the domestic AI ecosystem by facilitating access to subsidised GPU compute resources. However, persistent constraints in GPU availability continue to present operational challenges, potentially limiting the scalability and effectiveness of the programme.
