“Smridh Bharat Mei Shikshkon Ki Bhoomika”
To honor the mentors/gurus of the Sansthan, Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan (SSS) organized an event titled “Smridh Bharat Mei Shikshkon Ki Bhoomika” on Teachers’ Day 2025. In this event, researchers express their gratitude to their respected mentors/gurus by sharing their qualities and learning experiences. Each researcher provided their brief bio and explained the vertical they are working on and the amount of work they have completed to date. Prof. Ruby Mishra, Senior Professor of Chemistry at Deshbandhu College, University of Delhi, was the keynote speaker. The event was graced by dignitaries, including Shri Anil Sharma (Akhil Bhartiya Seh-Sampark Pramukh, Swadeshi Jagran Manch), Shri Raghvendra Pal (IRS, Government of India), Dr. Pooja Sharma (Daulat Ram College), Dr. Subhash Nimanpure (GGSIP University), and Adv. Gagan Kumar (SSS Mentor) and Dr. Himani Sharma (LBS University & SSS Mentor), along with researchers, interns, students, and Namdhari community members.
The welcome address and schedule of the event were given by Shri Anil Sharma Ji (Akhil Bhartiya Seh-Sampark Pramukh, Swadeshi Jagran Manch). He explained why 5th September is celebrated as Teachers’ Day and highlighted Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s vision. Prosperous Bharat, he noted, should not mean only economic growth but “Samaveshi Vikas” (inclusive development), rooted in Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah.
Prof. Ruby Mishra began by appreciating the Sansthan’s initiative and reflected on the idea that learning is a lifelong process, making every individual a “Sikh” in spirit. Sharing her personal journey, she expressed gratitude to her parents, especially her mother, for supporting her passion for teaching from a young age and helping her balance academics and family life. Prof. Mishra stressed that students are the true motivation for teachers and called for continuous improvement in teaching methods to engage learners effectively. She highlighted NEP 2020 as an important step toward reviving Bharatiya values in education, aligning with Gandhiji’s vision of “Swadeshi Taleem”. Citing examples like Mata Ahilyabai Holkar’s sustainable initiatives and J.C. Bose’s selfless dedication, she noted that true prosperity lies not merely in economic growth but in holistic development. She also underlined the importance of duties over rights, awareness among youth, and the preservation of joint family traditions. She concluded with five dimensions of development: material, intellectual, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
The program ended with a vote of thanks by Adv. Gagan Ji, a Swadeshi quiz by Prima Sharma ji, and lastly, certificate distribution to the interns by the dignitaries and high tea.
