India, the world’s third-largest oil importer, has leaned heavily on discounted Russian crude since Western sanctions followed Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine. At the center of this trade sits Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), which operates the world’s largest refinery in Jamnagar, and has emerged as the largest Indian buyer of Russian oil, particularly the Urals grade.
