Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a blistering attack on previous governments in Delhi, accusing them of “ruining the Capital and pushing it into a pit of neglect”, even as he praised the newly elected BJP government under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for “cleaning the mess” left behind.
Modi’s remarks came after he inaugurated the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road-II worth nearly Rs 11,000 crore, aimed at easing congestion and transforming connectivity in the national capital and its surrounding areas.
