National Seminar on “भारत @2047 समृद्ध एवं महान भारत” Report

A brainstorming National seminar on “भारत @2047 समृद्ध एवं महान भारत” was organised by Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan in collaboration with Dattopant Thengadi Foundation and Organiser Magazine (Bharat Prakashan Delhi Limited) sponsored by Pahle India Foundation and Nachiketa School. The session was organised on September 28, 2024 at 09:00 am to 5:00 pm at Laghu Udyog Bharati, New Delhi. Several Swadeshi-orientated economic organisations, including Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat, Laghu Udyog Bharti, Bhartiya Kisan Sangh, Pahle India Foundation, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Research Foundation, IPF, Akshay Krishi Parivar, CSIR, Dattopant Thengadi Foundation and other such organisations, collectively and enthusiastically participated in the session. The session was held under the guidance of respected Shri Kashmiri Lal ji, Shri Satish Kumar ji, Shri Ashwini Mahajan Ji, Shri Praful Ketkar ji (Editor at Organiser) and Shri Vrijesh ji.

Session 1: Samridh aivam Mahan Bharat @2047

The seminar was inaugurated with a lamp lighting ceremony. Prof. Pradeep Chauhan welcomed all the participants and anchored the first session. Shri Vrijesh Upadhayay from the Dattopant Thengadi Foundation, addressing the inaugural session, said that Swadeshi Jagran Manch is a platform that provides intellectual support to all other social and economic organisations working towards promoting Swadeshi. Presenting on the topic Viksit Bharat @2047 Ms. Shweta from the Dattopant Thengadi Foundation, in the first session, analysed the meaning and challenges of Viksit Bharat@2047. She raised the question of whether people in India are actually ‘developed’. She focused on human-centred policies based on ground reality. Esteemed personalities and stalwarts working on ground in various fields and different Swadeshi-orientated research organisations, including Shri Ravi Pokharna (Pahle India), Shri Pradeep Singh Chauhan (Secretary, Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan), Shri Omprakash Gupta (Laghu Udyog Bharti), Shri C. Nareshan Ji (Laghu Udyog Bharti), Shri Rajiv Nayan (CSIR), Shri Pritam Banarjee (SPMRF), Dr. Sarabjit Kaur (Joint Secretary, Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan), Shri Prashant Tripathi (Grahak Panchayat), Shri Radheshyam Agrawal (Grahak Panchayat), Dr. Sravan Dubey (Bhartiya Kisan Sangh), Shri Pathikrit Payne (SPMRF), Shri Vandeyam Gunakar (Akshay Krishi Parivar), Shri Girish Chandra Arya (Dattopant Thengadi Foundation) and Shri Gagan Kuman (Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan) eloquently presented their
views on different topics related to six key areas: Demography, Economy, Security and Defence, Science and Technology, Rural and Culture, and Global Outlook.

Eight dots Linking Bharat: Shri Satish Ji
Shri Satish Ji started the discussion by telling the reason for keeping the title as ‘Samridh’ and ‘Mahan’ Bharat and asked the organisations to research on the macro vision of it. Expressing his views on Viksit Bharat 2047, Shri Satish Kumar ji outlined eight dots linking Bharat which included Yuva aur Gatiman Jansankhya (Young and Dynamic Population), Purna Rojgaryukta Bharat (Bharat with full employment), Sarvochch Vaishvik Arthavyavastha (leading the global economy), Abheya Suraksha Tantra (security system), Vigyan aivan Takniki me Agrini (science and technology), Paryavaran Hitaishi Vikas (sustainable development), Vishwa Bandhutva ka Pravakta Bharat (world fraternity led by Bharat) and Uccha Jivanmulyo se yukta Bharat (higher moral values of life). He said that for Bharat, population is not a burden but a gift from nature. He talked about the preparation of Bharat’s vikas niti. On defence he said that Bharat should have a security system so that it can protect itself, not defeat other countries. In the fraternity he focused on the concept of vasudhaiva kutumbakam. It was followed by a discussion on Samridh Bharat by all the participants present in the session.

Critical Analysis of Five Verticals: Shri Praful Ji
Shri Praful Ketkar from the organiser spoke on the demographic composition of Bharat. He outlined the importance of a mindset based on nature-centric development instead of human-centric development. He questioned if the growth model is the only parameter for progress. He critically analysed the following five points: Firstly he questioned demography, if it should be purely based on numbers, or its qualitative aspect should also be kept in mind, with this view he focused on National Population Policy. Secondly he talked about Atma Nirbharta. He said that it should not be equated with self reliance. It should have ‘Atma’, cultural and spiritual values as its basis. He focused on the right balance between spirituality and materialism in pursuing the path of development. Thirdly, he talked about security and defence. Fourthly, he talked about Science and Technology, it should not be based on western
concept of ‘win over nature’ rather it should be understanding nature’s rules and utilising it for human welfare by maintaining a balance. Lastly he talked about Global Outlook as vasudhaiv kumubakam by changing current world order by Bharat’s principle. He said Bharat should focus on familial globalisation rather than market globalisation.

The above talk was followed by a further discussion which concluded that we should create an ecosystem for every individual of self-development, self-reliance. It included ponts:
● The concept of intergenerational investment has emerged from our family principles. Ideas for every individual to go through this just Transition Challenge.
● India’s GDP will be around 38 trillion dollars in 2047 by Goldman Sachs but there is a possibility of a global economic war in the next 5 years, the effect of which will be seen in India as well. We should think about what policy and plan is there now.

Session 2: Policy Intervention for Bharat@2047

The second session was deliberated on the topic Policy Intervention for Bharat@2047.Ms. Shikha Gautam from Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh explained about the relevance of policy formulation based on working at the microlevel. She presented points which included Shift from GDP-Focused Growth to Well-Being Metrics, Reprioritising Basic Needs in Development Policies, Enhance Public Investment in Education and Healthcare, Formalise the Unorganised Sector and Strengthen the social safety net, Minimum wages reform, Prioritise Human-Centric SDGs, Implement Antodaya based local development programs, Decentralised welfare and employment Schemes, Promote conscious consumption and local economics, Strength policy transparency and accountability and Promote Public-Private Partnership for inclusive growth etc. It was followed by comments of Shri Ashwini Ji, Shri Vrijesh Ji and discussion by further participants.

Session 3: Brainstorming Discussion on Need for Collaboration and
Networking of Different Organisations

In the third and last session, all the participants engaged in a brainstorming discussion about the need for collaboration and networking of different organisations, viz., economic, social ,and research, to promote a symbiotic culture for promoting Swadeshi and the development of Bharat in 2047. They unanimously highlighted the need for skill development, collective research and innovation, promotion of self-reliance, Indigenous economy, and people-oriented policies. It was discussed that various organisations should collaborate to conduct rigorous ground-orientated research to promote the vision of Viksit Bharat. At theend, Shri Kashmirilal Ji motivated the organisations to come together and work on the project of “भारत @2047 समधएवं महान भारत”.

The session was graced by key members of the core team of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan, including Er. Deepti Payasi (Organising Secretary), Dr. Shabana, and Dr. Rajender. Representing the researchers were Anushka Verma, Naman Kashyap, Alok Dwivedi, and
Nishant Chaturvedi. The gathering was a strong and dynamic one, with a total of fifty-six participants actively engaged in the session,contributing to its vibrant discussions and collective learning atmosphere .
