Indian exports to China surged nearly 40% in April-August, led by electronics and engineering goods, partly aided by global AI and data-centre demand. However, China takes just 4.4% of India’s exports, and the gains barely dent a $131.6 billion import bill last fiscal year, leaving the trade deficit overwhelmingly lopsided.
