The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has officially postponed the planned October 15 rollout of Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) fees on select UPI transactions. This delay provides immediate relief to businesses by preventing new operational costs during the peak Diwali festive shopping season. A revised date for implementing the new fee framework will be announced by the NPCI after the festivities have concluded.
