The Defence Ministry inked a ₹62,370-crore contract with HAL for 97 Tejas Mk 1A light combat aircraft, including 68 single-seaters and 29 twin variants. Deliveries will begin in 2027–28 and continue over six years, with over 64 % indigenous content to boost India’s aerospace ecosystem.
