Domestic fashion jewellery manufacturers are facing an onslaught of Chinese imports, which have surged 25% year-on-year, with alleged under-invoicing of shipments and wrong declaration of goods by importers to avoid anti-dumping duties making them almost 50% cheaper than locally produced ones, said industry executives.
