Report of Workshop on
Key Insights from the International Conference on “Vision 2047: Prosperous and Great Bharat” (28-29 June 2025)
Post-Conference Workshop sessions were conducted to consolidate insights, develop actionable roadmaps, and initiate thematic working groups under Vision 2047, ensuring continuity, accountability, and cross-sectoral engagement beyond the event.
Strengthening Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan (SSS) as a policy think tank and mission-driven knowledge ecosystem aimed at reimagining Bharat’s future through indigenous research and innovation. Encouraging Youth Participation and Volunteerism as the backbone of Mission SSS, empowering young minds to take ownership of Bharat’s vision with innovation, leadership, and social commitment. Building Collaborations and implementations of MoUs to catalyse innovation, promote impactful research, and translate policy ideas into actionable frameworks with public-private-academic synergy. Recognising Visionary Leadership and Contributions of individuals and institutions actively shaping Bharat’s developmental journey toward 2047.
Session-1 Inaugural Session
Speaker-1 Prof. Somnath Sachdeva (VC, Kurukshetra University, Vice-Chairman, Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan)
(Introduction of Workshop Theme)
- Explained reasons to organize this workshop and these reasons are, to find takeaways, conclusions of the International Conference which took place on 24-26 April 2025.
- In our research we need to apply demographic dividend, environment-friendly growth, cultural heritage and indigenous knowledge system of Bharat.
- The most important takeaways will be how we can apply all the conclusions and observations from the International Conference.
- Research should be relevant for society and which can raise societal, national and global issues.
- We need to focus on how we can establish Bharat as a “Research Hub”.
- Quantity instead of quality is the main feature of research in Bharat and we need to improve quality in our research.
- At last, he explained the schedule of the workshop.

- Need to discuss how to improve research, how to work with different institutions and what will be the role of different institutions in this process.
- Bharat has ability, resources, knowledge and is able to provide food security to its population.

- Asked all the participants whether they have published an article in mainstream newspapers or not? And he suggested that we should work for this so that we can make our own identity in mainstream print media.
- The approach of the research is more important than research and the approach should be Swadeshi.
- Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan is a mission not an academic exercise.
- The mission and work of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan is a perfect blend of academia plus ideology.

- Started her lecture with an important question that What should be our research all about?
- We need to make sure that in Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan, our ideas should be according to Bharatiya cultural values.
- There are several possibilities and challenges as well in making our research indigenous or Swadeshi.
- The aim or purpose of our Think tank (Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan) is giving new ideas for the welfare of the nation.
- Swadeshi is a way of thinking not only ideology.
- Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan was established in 2018 with several aims like sustainable development, trust in yourself through Swadeshi etc.
- In Swadeshi ShodhSansthan, we are working on eleven verticals like: Economy, Demography, Global Outlook of Bharat, Research Focusing on China, Security and Defence, Research Focusing on Punjab, Science and Technology, Employment, International Trade and Energy, Short and Medium Enterprises, Start-up Ecosystem.
- The method of research in Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan is Local to Global.

(Working of the “Policy Think Tank- Swadeshi Shodh Santhan” in a Mission Mode)
- Explained the working of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan and What should be?
- “Vision 2047: Great and Prosperous Bharat” has a different motto than other think-tanks in the country.
- Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan started as “National Working Group on Employment” in 2016.
- The scope of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan was always academic, which can guide research in the country.
- Its aim is to connect with the best researchers in the country and establish its chair in every state.
- We need to change western tools of research and should introduce or create Bhartiya one.
- We also need to work really hard to upgrade our journal “Arthayaam” to the best in the world like Springer etc.
- The new office of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan is on “Mission Mode” now.
- This Think-Tank will promote Hindu values system and Bhartiya knowledge system.
- Clarity in our thoughts are very important for making Bharat Prosperous till 2047.

(Financial Aspects)
- Explained the financial aspects of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan because we cannot run without finances.
- Need to work on how to sponsor research in the context of storytelling.
- Researchers are shaping the future of the country so they have a lot of responsibility regarding quality and indigenous research.
- Can raise funds through majorly three ways: voluntarily, through government or ministries and foreign contributors.
- Need to find an organization whose object will align with us so that they can sponsor our research.
- Can also approach to foreign contributors for sponsoring our research.
- Need to work for getting sponsorship or finances from CSR (Corporates Social Responsibility).
- Need for doing efforts to get funds for research on project specific grounds.
- Put nominal fees for subscription of our research papers royalty.
- Fundraising for International Conference and event planning.
- Crowdfunding can become a good source of fund raise.
- Advertisements of others in journals for generating funds.
Suggestions
- Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan can align universities and industry through doing MOUs with both.
- Can make lists of subjects and can circulate that list in MOUs signed universities and institutions.
- Can create our own database and can send them for sampling.
- Experts/researchers who are specialized in their subject can play a major role in fund raising through consultancy.
- Work hard for nourishing our verticals and can take minimal fees for becoming a member of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan. Membership can be annual or lifetime.
- Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan can work for Swadeshi Haat, Swadeshi Entrepreneurship, research projects.
- Can work for organizing annual conferences, advertisements in conferences, fund raise by different chapters.
- Fund raise in forms of kinds, goods or services not in forms of money.

(Managerial/Mentoring Aspects)
There are eleven verticals the Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan are working on.
- When hiring the researcher, we should give them a topic for research and should check or discuss his/her work on the next day.
- Firstly, should focus on hiring vertical specialists first then should hire researchers other than that.
- All academicians, who work or connected with Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan should share their students and should motivate them regarding eleven verticals.
- The relations between researchers and mentors should be cordial so that the research can be more successful and qualitative.

(Managerial/Mentoring Aspects)
- The level and quality of research is very important in today’s scenario.
- Need to make a list of university professors, college professors and according to their specialization, appoint them as a mentor for Swadeshi ShodhSansthan.
- MOUs done during the conference (24-26 April 2025) can become a part of our research.
- In the West, there is an alignment between industry and research so needed in Swadeshi ShodhSansthan.
- Try to get fellowship for researchers and sponsorship from institutions like ICSSR and ICAR.
- Need to create our own parallel vimarsh in the mainstream through qualitative research in Swadeshi ShodhSansthan.
- To make our vimarsh stronger and attractive, we need to read our socialism, marxism so that we can find their weakness.

There is a visible gap in academia and industries in Bharat.
- Bharat is looking towards the West for data so instead of that Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan needs to create its own data.
- Research is not practical in Bharat which is much needed now.
- Like Aayurveda and Yoga (60 bn $ industry in the world) needs to create a research industry also.
- Now academia is not innovative in Bharat, it is only following the ancient time innovation only.
- Swadeshi ShodhSansthan needs to do MOUs with industries as well.
- The research of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan should be practically applicable, it should not be vague.

Need to focus on how Bharat will be prosperous.
- Shared experiences of the West regarding the alignment between academia and industry.
- Bharat should work hard so that the Nobel Prize should be given to a Bhartiya only.
- In every sector, Bharat has a calibre to work better than now.
- Bharat has worked so hard in infrastructure and now needs more research for betterment in it.
- In space, Bharat needs more research and in pharmaceutical science, it is producing huge but still needs more research to become number one in the world.
- Bharat should promote tourism through initiatives like “Holiday in Bharat”.

(MOUs and Collaboration)
- Need to focus on society-relevant research in Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan.
- Research should be industry-relevant.
- The Number of PhD students in Bharat is huge but all are not having quality research.
- Explained the National Education Policy.
- In the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) in PhD, there is no involvement of society and industry.
- Should submit an ordinance to the ministry regarding quality research.
- NEP is not implemented in several states in Bharat and they are opposing it though the implementation of NEP is necessary to the nation.
Suggestions
- Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan needs to make sure that MOUs signed should be active with several universities and colleges.
- Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan needs to make centres of all chapters which will make it easy to collaborate with institutions.
Speaker-5, Prof. Rajinder Singh (Professor, Shivaji College, Delhi University and Secretary, Punjab State, Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan)
(MOUs and Collaboration)
The long-term aim of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan is to establish it as a prominent think tank of the country.
- Sansthan can do association/collaborations with institutes, universities for providing them data for the future.
- Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan needs to develop its own research methodology for making it more indigenous and qualitative.
Suggestions
- Retired bureaucrats can help Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan in research.
- Need to work on how to execute the MOUs done with several institutions.
- Should form a committee for MOUs which will take care of its work, progress and review.
- If the committee finds that Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan is not getting any profit and is not active with certain institutions then their MOUs will be terminated.
- After the International Conference Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan should give policy recommendations to the government or ministry.
- Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan should send a speaker or subject expert to the MOUs signed institution for organizing seminar, lectures on different verticals.
Day-2, Session-5

(Govt. Policy/Publication/Journal/Marketing)
Announced that Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan is going to publish a journal now titled “Arthayaam”.
- The contributors for this journal should be entrepreneurs, people from industries etc.
- The journal will be peer reviewed means research papers will be reviewed by an editorial board before publication.
- For publication in this journal make sure to follow a standard process and the process cannot be surpassed by any member.
- Now we should focus on taking ISSN numbers and aim to establish journal indexing in Scopus and Springer.
Suggestions
- Verticals of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan should be mentioned clearly in the journal.
- The journal should be quality based and for its expenses need to take help from UGC so that it can be circulated in all universities of the country.
- Retired professors, dean VCs can also contribute in the journal who belongs to our ideology.
- Research papers and success stories should be included in the journal.
- Can provide appreciation letters for qualitative research papers.
- Review of the research paper should be time-bound so that the issue of the journal will be on time.
- Should prioritize application-oriented research papers for the journal.
- Now we will go with the English language later on and include Hindi also.
- Needs to limit the words limit for research papers and guidelines regarding research methodology and review of literature.
- Publication in the journal should be free of cost for now and later on can think about it.
- For credibility of the journal, priority should be quality research papers.
- Can work to honour the amount for the research paper also.
- The journal will be published once in four months initially and later will continue quarterly in a year.
- The journal should be in three parts/portion: research papers, success story, book reviews.
- Need to work on upgrading our newsletter.
- Can work for newsletter subscriptions for libraries.
- The publications of Swadeshi ShodhSansthan should be a part or should contribute in policy-making in the country.

- Underlines that researchers are the backbone of the mission so the role of the researchers is very important in Swadeshi ShodhSansthan.
- Given many examples of several initiatives which were successful only because of their volunteers e.g. Namami Gange.
- Highlighted that now the role of volunteers is established in today’s world though the United Nations is also having volunteers in different spheres.
- Underlines several qualities of a good volunteer like, he should be friendly, smiling face, reliable, committed, dedicated for his/her work, teamwork, compassionate, sympathetic, adaptability, desire and capability, effective communication, proactive, influential etc.

- Research methodology should be place-based research.

(Future Research/Targets/Topics)
- In Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan, Shodh is most important.
- Research should be recognized nationally or internationally only then the research will be fruitful.
- Can make a core team for all important components for better functioning of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan.
- Need to increase exports and decrease imports.
- Should work on patents.
- Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan should identify the core areas of research and should know about its strengths, weaknesses and should work for improvement.
Suggestions
- Should switch to Zoho mail and quit gmail and from google meet to Zoho meet.
- Needs to do MOUs with LaghuUdyod Bharati so that we can discuss their problems too and can give them solutions through research.
- Globally, Bharat contributes 36% in research so Swadeshi ShodhSansthan needs to work on how we can make it 50%.
- Patients need to be explained to the people so that all can take or follow them as their original ideas.
- Should align economic background with Bhartiya value system.
- Need to work on public awareness in regard to employment, entrepreneurship etc.

Explained the previous events which took place in the last financial year.
- Explained the International Conference which took place on 24-26 April 2025 in detail.
- Also explained the ongoing lecture-series organized by Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan on different verticals.
- Discussed upcoming calendar of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan.
- Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan will organize a yearly conference and one seminar or discussion on the occasion of inauguration of the new building of the Sansthan.

(Bhartiya Value System)
- Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan’s research and the education system should be based on Bharat’s value based and family-based.
- Need to focus on how to apply the knowledge system of the Mahabharata era and promote the importance of Karma.
- The Bharatiya knowledge system needs to be taught to the youth of Bharat and ShodhSanthan can play a major role in it.
- Can solve contemporary problems according to knowledge of Mahabharata and Ramayana era.
- Can organize seminars and lectures on Bhartiya knowledge system.
- Bharat can create its own value-based education system which will be based on Mahabharata or vedic period.

- Underlines that now after this fruitful workshop everyone is clear in his/her mind about the mission/work of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan.
- Now Swadeshi ShodhSansthan needs to walk on this path only.
- Wish to contribute to Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan after retirement (after September/October).
- Will contribute in the process of reviewing research papers for the journal.
Suggestions
- Need to reform in the calendar for making the chapters more active.
- Need to work on a pre-visit memorandum with states while Sansthan is having a conference so that the MOUs institutes can know about it.
- Should work on giving recommendations to the central and state government for budget.
- Need to take care of the ideology and core principles of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan while doing MOUs with any institution.
- Need to start online broadcasting of lecture-series through youtube and should record them also.
- The state chapter chairperson should be responsible for MOUs in that state.
- There should be at least a lecture in a month in each chapter.
- At Least one conference in a year should be organized by every district.
- The chapters also should create their own calendar.
- Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan needs a collaboration with prestigious institutions like ICSSR and PhD degree affiliation and can start with Kurukshetra University itself.
- Need to spread “Swadeshi Swavlamban Abhiyan”.
Session-8: Valedictory Session

- Discussed each and every dimension of the conference and need to work on how to make it active are insights from the conference.

- After a long and healthy discussion with economic advisors in 2018, the outcome was that Bharat needs a Swadeshi Think Tank. So, Swadeshi ShodhSansthan was created.
- For Swadeshi ShodhSanthan, becoming a leader in research is very important.
- It has a Swadeshi point of view, vision which can place the country on the top and soon it will be successful in doing so.
- There is a visible difference in country’s GDP during Manmohan Singh period and Shri Narendera Modi’s period.
- The difference is because of the vision, strength and capability of a tea seller Prime Minister Narendrea Modi has which Mr. Singh did not have.
- Same in Mahabharata, the difference of dedication of Arjuna while Shri Krishna trying to make him understand that Dharma Yudh is necessary and later was called Geeta Gyaan and during making understand Duryodhana regarding the results of Yudh, Shri Krishna was insulted by him.
- Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan need researcher who can think big and are dedicated for research.
- Dedication is must in this Sansthan because only forwarding information and attending meetings will not be enough.
- Given the example of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, who insisted karkarta’s are those who can work 24 by 7.
- 24 hours thinking about Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan is very important for making its vision possible.
- It is work for the society and the nation.
- Vivekananda also said, “Live for others, not for name, not for fame”.
- After this, nobody can stop Bharat from becoming a prosperous nation and becoming “Vishwa Guru” soon.

Prof. Chauhan thanks all the dignitaries and participants present in this Two-Day Workshop. He shows his gratitude to Respected Satish Kumar ji (Seh-Sangthak, Swadeshi Jagran Manch) for his presence and guiding remarks throughout the workshop. He also thanked the honourable Vice- Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Prof. Somnath Sachdeva ji for hosting this event and providing a wonderful hospitality to all the participants. He congratulated all the members who were promoted and who gets dayitva in this workshop.
