(I) Introduction:

Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan (SSS) (An Initiative of Swadeshi Jagran Manch) (SJM) was inaugurated during the festival of Chaitra Pratipada in 2018 and was dedicated to reviving and promoting Swadeshi principles nationwide. It aims to preserve three notions which are:

1. Bharat’s rich heritage.

2. To foster cultural pride of Bharat and,

3. To Empower the local artisans.

 

(II) “Punjab Chair” was founded along with SSS and is also considered to be a branch of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan. Punjab chair was founded by Shri Satish Kumar Ji who is the co-organizer of ‘Swadeshi Jagran Manch’ and is coordinated under the supervision of Dr. Rajinder Singh. It was declared as one of the verticals of ‘Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan’. ‘Punjab Chair’ aims to address the issues and challenges being faced by Punjab. After various discussions and brain storming sessions, some issues have been identified which can be categorized under two aspects:

  • Economy: Issues like “Downfall in Economy and Agricultural”, “Problems related to the Water crisis”, “Unemployment”, “MSMEs”, “Challenges faced by Industry”.
  •  Social issues like “Brain Drain and Migration”, “Conversions”, “drugs”, “Lack of healthy lifestyles”, “Education” etc…

 

(III) Projects done under the Punjab Chair of Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan:

1. A Round Table discussion on “New Punjab for New Bharat: Issues and way forward” which was held on May 27, 2023 in R.K. Purum, New Delhi. The event manifested the main agendas which were “Brain Drain”, “Christian Conversions and Radicalism”, and “degrading economic and agricultural growth of Punjab State”.

           

2. A Seminar on “New Punjab for New Bharat: Issues and way forward” which was held on June 27, 2023 in Chandigardh. The seminar focused on the main concerns of “Women’s Unemployment”, “Drug Addiction”, “Negative Impact of Green Revolution” and “MSMEs”.

3. A Seminar on “Employment through Entrepreneurship in Punjab – A Paradigm Shift” which was held on August 12, 2023 in Amritsar. The seminar entitled the relevant issues of “Crisis in Job prospects” and “Entrepreneurship”.

                   

4. A Seminar on “Trade and Industry in Punjab: Opportunities and challenges” which was held on December 16, 2024 in Patiala. The entire seminar focused on the main agendas of Startups, Entrepreneurship, and Industrial Advancement in Punjab.

             

5. A round table discussion on “Brain Drain from Punjab: Causes and Solutions” was held in R.K. Purum, New Delhi on March 16, 2024. The causes of migration of youth form Punjab and its solutions were discussed.

           

6. A Seminar on “Agri Business and Farmers Producers Organization” was held on March 23, 2024 in Bathinda. The seminar focused on the challenges being faced by Agricultural in Punjab. The role of Farmers Producers Organisation as the solution was discussed in the seminar.
