Three-Day International Conference on “Vision 2047: Prosperous and Great Bharat” Commences
The session commenced with notable dignitaries and stakeholders including Hon’ble Union Min of Housing & Urban Affairs and Power Sh Manohar Lal ji, Sh S. Gurumurthy, Amb. Anil Sooklal, Prof. Bhagwati Prakash Ji, Prof. Somnath: VC-KUK, Dr. Rakesh Chandra Aggrawal- DDG-ICAR (Agri Education). Prof. Somnath as the session incharge.
Shri Manohar Lal, condemned the Pahalgam incident and paid tribute to the martyrs. He emphasized that for Bharat to surpass other nations, it must eliminate unemployment, eradicate poverty, and address economic inequality. He said, “Spirituality is Bharat’s heritage. To make the country prosperous and developed, we need to work with clear direction and momentum.”
He was addressing the inaugural session of the three-day international conference on “Vision 2047: Prosperous and Great Bharat”, held from April 24–26, 2025, at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. The event is jointly organized by Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan, Kurukshetra University, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University Hisar, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), University of Agder (Norway), Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, and Organiser Magazine as the media partner.
The event began with tributes to the Pahalgam victims and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Dignitaries also released the conference souvenir and a book authored by Dr. Pradeep Chauhan and Dr. Sarvjeet Kaur.
Shri Manohar Lal stated that in the last 10 years, Bharat has witnessed rapid development and provided employment to 180 million people. He expressed confidence that in the next two years, Bharat will become a $5 trillion economy, achieving self-reliance. He spoke on global warming and the environment, noting that 45% of India’s power now comes from solar energy, and by 2047, 100 GW of atomic energy will be produced. He also spoke about Geeta Jayanti celebrations in Haryana gaining global attention and emphasized the values of universal brotherhood and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
Keynote speaker and part-time Director at the Reserve Bank of India, Swaminathan Gurumurthy, stated that education and entrepreneurship form the backbone of the Indian economy, and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam truly means “One World Family.”
Vice-Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, Prof. Somnath Sachdeva, welcomed the guests and presented the conference roadmap. He shared that the event received 800 registrations, with 700 research papers and abstracts submitted. There will be 8 technical sessions, along with 9 offline and 1 online plenary session.
Satish Kumar JI , National Co-Convener of Swadeshi Jagran Manch, highlighted eight pillars of India’s growth, which include:
- A dynamic and youthful population
- Full employment
- Global economic leadership
- Robust security systems
- Leadership in science and technology
- Sustainable development
- Bharat as a promoter of global fraternity
- A society grounded in high moral values
He stressed that population is not a burden but a gift of nature and discussed the preparation of Bharat’s development policy. He emphasized the need for a strong defense system and focused on the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
Former Vice-Chancellor of GB University, Prof. Bhagwati Prakash, stated that Bharat has always been a prosperous nation and emphasized the importance of agricultural education and the adoption of natural farming.
Deputy Director of ICAR, Dr. R.C. Aggarwal, noted that ICAR is associated with 77 agricultural universities and around 300 private colleges, all focused on strengthening agricultural education in Bharat. Over the past four years, 400 entrepreneurs associated with ICAR have achieved a turnover of ₹2.8 crores, a matter of pride.
Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General of AIU, spoke about the 118 unicorns in Bharat. She highlighted the New Education Policy 2020, noting that school and college curricula should be rescheduled every three months and emphasized the importance of online education.
A.S. Mittal, Vice Chairman of Sonalika Tractors, emphasized economic prosperity, education, ethics, and quality of life, advocating for a self-reliant and globally respected Bharat where “every citizen can live a life of high quality.”
Finally, Prof. B.R. Kamboj, Vice-Chancellor of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, expressed gratitude to the dignitaries and remarked that Swadeshi is not just a movement but a way of life, symbolizing self-reliance, simplicity, and Indian values. Prof. Vivek Chawla, Director of Youth and Cultural Affairs at Kurukshetra University, conducted the stage proceedings.
Among the dignitaries present were R. Sundaram (National Coordinator, Swadeshi Jagran Manch), Archana Meena (All India Women Co-Coordinator, Swavalambi Bharat Abhiyan), Kashmiri Lal (National Organizer, Swadeshi Jagran Manch), Rajesh Goyal (Secretary, Department of Technical Education, Haryana), Prof. Ashwini Mahajan, CA Harshit, Dr. R.C. Aggarwal, Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Vice Chancellor Dr. R.K. Mittal, and others including Anuradha, Manoj, Prof. Sushil Sharma, Prof. Anil Mittal, Prof. Vivek Chawla, Dr. Rajan Sharma, Dr. J.K. Chandel, Dr. Ajay Jangra, and Dr. Mahesh.
Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with several academic institutions. Representing the institute, Dr. Pradeep Chauhan and Vikas Singh entered into collaborations with the University of Agder (Norway), ICAR (New Delhi), Association of Indian Universities (AIU), NIPER Kolkata, NIPER Guwahati, Sanatan Group of Education, Bundelkhand University, Damodaran University Nainital, NIT Nagaland, NIFTEM Thanjavur, Chaudhary Charan Singh University Meerut, Maa Shakumbhari University Saharanpur, and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra.
During the three-day international conference, exhibitions by Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan, Kurukshetra University, CCSHAU Hisar, and ICAR attracted significant attention. These exhibitions featured themes such as heritage farming, cotton textiles, seeds, crops, plants, natural farming, and various startups and innovations, all of which received appreciation. A book exhibition showcasing publications by Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan was also held.
